I think Friday will be a mixed day for CS...For those that were hoping it would have been sold already may get out before earnings, as you said price did drop last time. Others may buy looking for merger Monday.
I will hold, but have mixed feelings....If Monday morning has no news, then I can see CS retreating some...

keep in mind a couple things when you are holding a stock for a potential takeover.

you never know when an announcement will happen...ie...fore, shortly after the open...some sold that morning thinking the stock would drop and they would buy it back before the close...

mi...reported earnings and was bought out on the same day

tim luke calls xyln around 10$ witha 35$ takeout price....i was so right on the money with this call but guess what??..i made a real dumbass mistake and sold in the mid 20's...i thought i could buy it back in the low 20's...a few days goes buy and i'm still on the sidelines waiting to buy the stock back in the low 20's...one morning i wake up to the word HALTED...i miss out on my own call and took 10 points off the table because i was trying to get the stock a couple points cheaper..

lesson learned

IMO cs is in the hot seat right now so i will focus on them...earnings out on monday (pios and knt are next month)

fore systems beats first call by a penny....it wasn't such a great number to write home about but at least they beat by a penny...

4-22-99 they report
4-26-99 they are bought

4-23-99 fore closed up 5/8..so there was no selloff with the number they reported.

cs has not pre-warned and with all the deals they have been announcing in the past few months i think they just might do pretty well with their numbers...the bottom line ...there is no way i will risk selling for one minute...if it drops then i will ride it out.
