JMD: I read some interesting points by EAL on Yahoo thread. One point was very interesting - QCOM's ability to collect royalties from the new owner of QCP would yield a new royalty stream of 3.5% (conservative). It seems that a sale of QCP at this time would be an even trade off for the Q, assuming that his assumption that the gross margin at QCP was 3%. He also mentioned something about QCOM recognizing more ASIC revenues once the sale is complete. I didn't understand why that would be the case. Nonetheless, this deal is a no brainer for the Q.
