Following the logic, what do you think has been the impact of TER trying to integrate their own handler with their own testers (Kinetrix Division)?

I don't know the specifics of TER and Kinetrix...however, I do know the old adage "Stick to your knitting" which is an old way of saying "stay focused". This is why so many companies go to a focused strategy and eliminate many non-strategic in-house activities. I seriously doubt that Kinetrix is in the mainstream of TER's strategy and I also doubt that Kinetrix could be successful against COHU for the reasons mentioned in my previous post...i.e. they may be serving only the TER market and thereby limiting their potential to compete with COHU.

Do you think there are any good semi-equip companies that Cohu would fit together well with?

Probably the best fit would be with other "mechanically" oriented companies in other backend areas (besides test) like assembly (KLIC comes to mind). I would think COHU should be concerned with the "system on a chip" (SOC) trend and the implications for their business. Maybe teaming up with an assembly company would produce a more integrated approach for test and assembly which might work better for the SOC business. I'll defer to someone else who knows this business better!

BTW, COHU could also acquire another company related to their business with the cash they have gathering dust. Cerprobe (CRPB) is one whose business is somewhat related and is trading at a very low Price/Sales ratio now. See: siliconinvestor.com
