Kagan Streaming Media Conference Oct. 6-7 to Uncover New Investment Opportunities, Business Models and Broadband Strategies

CARMEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 1999--

Simply stamping out press releases, however, will not be a potent enough tonic to unlock the potential riches of the market. Investors, both public and private, are now cherrypicking their plays, and are more intent than ever to place their bets with industry leaders providing promising solutions, regardless of cost. Witness Cambridge, MA-based start-up, Akamai, which was recently valued at $1.3 bil. -- not by starry-eyed investors, but by Cisco Systems.

>>>>Just as the internet has opened up a new type of opportunity
for company's like AXC, the internet/info revolution has
created a new type of investor - for better or worse. As
time goes by, this new type of investor will become more and
more the norm (attention-span limited, shorter term oriented
and all other warts front and center)<<<<

Or it may be that these investors will become more long term oriented, but with the instantaneous nature of the Internet and the ability to trade online just by pulling the trigger, I don't think so. I think that us old warhorses had better get used to the limited attention span investor.

I agree with you AXC's PR needs a lot of help. It is obvious that they either haven't got a clue about promoting the company to enhance shareholder value, or they just don't care, knowing that when the time is right, "this star will shine".

Oh yech, I can't believe I wrote that !
