Following this with interest. What effect if any will an interest rate hike in October have on the share price ? Am I better off holding off or buying now under those circumstances?

On the other hand, the sizeable decline has killed a bunch of speculators and will take time to repair. In 1995 it took a little over 6 months from the pullback low at 5 before the 1995 high was exceeded in 1996, on the way to $14. >

The markets were much different in 1995/1996, with the advent on online trading and day traders what took 6 months in 95 will take only a fraction of that time now, maybe weeks or even days.
