You all make great points. I wasn't trying to put any positive spin on ORCL, just reporting what was said. I agree that ORCL must be reclassifying revenues in order to make itself look stronger in the hot areas. And I'm sure they still have a lot of catching up to those areas from a functionality standpoint.

Of course, Oracle can't make a living off giving away its product to every large referenceable customer. Everyone seems to want to dump on Oracle. But the company has made one transition (from DBs to apps) and is making another transition (back office to front office/procure./etc) better than any of the other ERP vendors. And the stock has tripled in the 3 years since they really began pushing into apps. So, on the margin, they've been pretty successful in the past 3 years.
