JVC teams up with Philips on D - VHS VCRs

TOKYO, Aug. 25 --

Victor Co. of Japan Ltd. (JVC) said Wednesday it has agreed with Philips Electronics NV of the Netherlands to cooperate in joint development of interface technology for D - VHS home-video format.

The network technology involves connecting personal computers and other information appliances with D - VHS VCRs.

JVC will also supply D-VHS videocassette recorders (VCRs) for Philips on Philips' brands that it plans to market in Europe at the end of the year.

JVC developed D-VHS as a next-generation VCR technology for the digital age.

It has already concluded a similar tie-up with Sony Corp.

Why? Looks like stock will try and close near the high of the day on incredible volume. Momentum looks to have more upside yet.
