>>>Looks to me like they got it right about where they want it for tomorrows expirations. Man, have I ever gotten cynical!

Almost like an analysts...you need a CYA statement when speaking about this one.

IT Confidential

Sep. 17, 1999 (InformationWeek - CMP via COMTEX) -- American Express
was early to the online billing game, creating its own proprietary
system a couple of years ago. But after spending the past year figuring
out a strategy, says one source, Amex is moving away from its
proprietary technology. Last week, the company offered to build a
bridge to the mainland of the online billing world by licensing
BillDirect technology from Edocs Inc. that will allow Amex to send
bills via CheckFree Corp., a key distributor of electronic invoices. A
spokeswoman for American Express, which also made an equity investment
in Edocs, says the company will use BillDirect to "enhance and expand"
its current online billing service, which gives more than 1 million
registered customers a limited view of their recent charges.
