there is an easy reason: I sold @ 4.25 with a small profit. this pattern is very common to me. my last big success was selling affx @42 with 30% profit after 2 years. ïthis was about 3 months ago if my memory is correct, now they are 100+.
Good luck Ronald

btw I had abtx before from 2 to 10$ (and sold before they reached 30 half a year later).

I have no special source of information, but the company has announced that it is seeking a long-term financing (asset-based = mortgages?) solution and the announcement of completion of that is due sometime between now and about November 1st. It seems plausible that some investors are "buying on rumor."

I would reckon that the recent break in the drought over much of the country, but particularly the northeast, will mean that some farmers will have enough money to buy new seed for next year. (I am not savvy enough about farming to know whether the current hurricane and its excessive rainfall helps or hinders that piece of the equation.)

There has been progress on a bill in Congress to help bail out the farmers. This could be a plus for ABTX.

Lastly, there is a previously-well-informed but anonymous source over on the Raging Bull thread who hints that somebody big is sniffing around ABTX and asking a lot of questions. He doesn't opine whether this is a potential buyer/equity deal or a major analyst.

But whatever, the chart sure looks a lot better than it did a week ago ... though I don't know whether my Oct 7.5's will ever be worth anything <wry grin>.

Happy Due Diligence.
