Um, I didn't say that line...I was only agreeing with an entire sentiment from SJS that ended with that line:
In a Reuters interview, Applied Materials (AMAT 78 1/8 -3 7/16) CEO, James Morgan, said he believes the chip equipment industry is poised for a strong recovery as major chip makers are expected to resume spending on capacity expansion soon....
Given scope of recent gains, looks like investors have already been assuming as much.


I.e., the strong recovery expectation is already 'evidenced' by a dramatically rising stock price this year. Now, whether investors should be bidding up the price even further based on expected EPS, well I'm still waiting for price to 'come into line' with a 50 p/e one way or another too<g>. Be-that-as-it-may, even I'm not comfortable comparing AMAT to AMZN and its progeny in terms of multiples. If you mix apples and oranges in non-comparable eps time frames you're going to get moldy fruit salad. Yuck.
