Mr. Barry:

They were licensed gun dealers who were selling arms at various meets to supplement their income; that doesn't equate with "stockpiled weapons," however that phrase does equate with inflammatory rhetoric.

<<Why did we not see parents fleeing with their kids?>>

They were probably afraid they'd be shot, and with all the bullets poured into the complex, that was probably a good assumption. Unfortunately, they obviously didn't believe their own government would pump the complex full of one type of tear gas, and then fire ferret rounds of another gas into their quarters. Ferret rounds that had an inflammable agent mixed with the outlawed CS gas. So much gas pumped in that it may well have killed the children and any ill members of the congregation, before the fire started.

After the gas was pumped in, they may not have been conscious - and even if they were, they would have been too disoriented to escape the sudden ballooning of fire that occurred after the CS gas was ignited.

In this case, it may prove to be that 1 + 1 = death.

Barry,If Koresh really thought he was Jesus Christ,he wasn't religious,he was a lunatic, which I have not denied to anyone. We have been warned that there will be many false prophets and pretenders. He was just one of them.

Your analogy about cannibals is just flat silly. The Koresh thing could, and should, have been handled in a much different way. If they had arrested him on one of his frequent trips to town, the rest of the group would have fallen apart and any threat,if any were actually made, would have no meaning...TD
