Actually, it can happen. Just today I had a stop/market order on IMCL at 35 1/4 which executed at 35.

Stops are activated by TRADES. (Thank goodness, or the MMs would really kill us.) When IMCL TRADED at 35 1/4 the trade took out the bid. My stop was activated by the trade and my order became a market order. However, since the 35 1/4 had been taken out, the next bid was 35, so that's what I got. It does happen.

Susan, though, somehow had her stop activated without the stock trading at her stop price, which is a big no-no.

I have never had a trade executed below my stop. I have the low at 65 15/16.
