from what i can tell it is the system resource management that is functioning, (ha ha ha ha ha function? ms??) inadequately. i can be running only five windows but in time i will run out of memory, even if i shut down 1 or two of these. win just does not give the memory back. when i first installed the 16meg video card, i had already upgraded the ram to 160meg, i opened up 12 windows to see how the system would respond and it held up quite well. still in the green on the resource meter and norton in the background. but as soon as i started my normal routine in the mornings, opening about 6-7 windows, soon after that the yello was reached and now i'm back to running into the red with as little as four windows going. if i ever make some money at this i will migrate to the apple G4 and never look back. and hopefully never ever have to do anything again with ms. (pipe dream????????) thank you for your reply.
