Using the existing earning can never project ADI's price movement for the last 12 months. The price movement is always dependent upon the future earning and the earning growth. If you think you can get access to more meaningful data and make better projection than what an analyst can do, you may be over estimate your capacity. I only see price movement based on the forecast of an analyst, not the individual investor including myself. Over the years, in order to catch big fishes, I learn to listen to the market, especially when price movement is correlated with the earning projection. The reality is that we invest for the future, not the past. ADI will soon surpass MXIM and I will be just half happy.
