I also wonder how many smart cards are being issued..ie metrocard in NYC is probably putting a dent into token production and into the need for quarters...smart cards for laundry machines are also probably putting a dent into quarters' demands..obviously credit and debit cards.. also phone cards.. wonder if the government has overestimated the growth of all these coin savers.. also wonder how close we are to electronic money and government monitoring all our spending habits and spending in general

Dear Mr Johnson : I would appreciate your comment on the Gold Fields report published in our local rag two days ago. It has taken me two days to ask because my server was down due to a strike by telecom workers.

What confuses me is the mining production of 1500 tonnes (approx). It would seem, according to your statistics, that the figures are 1000 tonnes too low. Or are they for 6 months only?

"Total mining industry supply of 1482 tons, made up of 252 tons of hedging plus mine output of 1230 tons, was up 18% on the same time last year."
