it also apparently seems that Ike, in my observation, has no aversion to going short if the market takes him there

though i don't trade indicies or futures yet, i will say that shorting is necessary to create a market, technically
shorting with the trend is also, in my opinion, is as valid as profiting on the long side during a trend that is long

i am interested to understand the context of your statement

CB,..Re:.the markets are down too much.

I guess the new highs in both the NDX and COMP last Friday don't count? Gains of +35% and +45% since late Dec. '98 are not good enough?

Have never shorted stocks, prefer Ike's method of playing the market in both directions using options.
