To help support the interests of Hydrogen in Congress, Please use this letter to Congress as a template. please cut and paste this letter, using the name of your Congressman, and your own name and address and send in your support of the hydrogen budget, lest it suffer cutbacks in funding. This is our opportunity to use the power of the internet to spread the word and support a cause we believe in. An Open Letter to Congressman Brad Sherman From David Haberman, Chairman, DCH Technology September 14, 1999 The Honorable Brad J. Sherman Member of Congress 1524 Longworth House Office Building Washington, D.C. 20515 Dear Congressman Sherman: I deeply appreciate your support for hydrogen research. Your leadership on this issue is greatly appreciated. But once again hydrogen research needs your assistance. As you know, before the Congressional recess the Senate marked up hydrogen research funding for FY 2000 by appropriating $27 million, however the House mark contains only $21 million. I am writing you today to respectfully request your assistance in seeing that the Energy and Water Conference version contains the full $27 million. I know that your colleague Congressman Peter Visclosky, the Ranking Member of the Energy and Power Appropriations Committee, respects and values your input. I would be grateful if you would communicate your advocacy to him for funding the hydrogen research program at the $27 million level. As a supporter of hydrogen energy, you know its merits. This new and emerging technology greatly contributes to our energy security, a cleaner environment, and our nation's economic development. Hydrogen as a fuel is on the cutting-edge of renewable energy sources. Rather than relying on imported fuels, we can use hydrogen to grow our economy with out harming the environment. Expanding the use of hydrogen energy will increase U.S. competitiveness, reduce U.S. dependence on foreign oil, and enhance our national security. Funding of the hydrogen research program at $27 million will afford hydrogen companies, like DCH Technology, the resources to commercialize new hydrogen technologies. Your support in the Energy and Water Appropriations bill is vital. On behalf of DCH Technology, I sincerely appreciate your assistance in securing hydrogen research at $27 million. Again, thank you for you're continuing leadership for developing new technologies. Sincerely, David Haberman Chairman, DCH Technology
