Credit Suisse First Boston analyst Amit Chopra raised his 12-month price target on EMC Corp. (EMC: news, msgs) to $75 from $90 per share after meeting with the storage provider. Chopra said the company's sales force indicated it's experiencing less competition from Hewlett-Packard (HWP: news, msgs) and said EMC's third quarter "appears to be a carbon copy of the second quarter," with software sales likely to help create an "upside surprise."

EMC rose 2.5 percent to 69 7/16.

Obviously there is an error in the price target. It should say "to 90 from 75".
