Bill Ounce, Re:" But you can't adequately teach Biology without covering evolution, and you can't adequately
teach science without including Biology."

You got to be kidding right?

Are you aware that many Medical Schools in Europe, that includes England home
of Darwin, do not teach evolution
in college Bio? It is a totally irrelevant Theory to
the daily practice of Medicine.
By the same token, millions of physicians world wide,
after having been marinated with High Scool AP Bio and Evolution, merrily
attend Church every week which is why Carl Sagan and the grave diggers are having a fit?

they issue here is the fact that evolution is not REQUIRED LEARNING it can still be taught in kansas but is not required to graduate. they are not trying
to block the teaching just making it not required.

That doesn't make much difference. To me it reads "a certain religion will get upset over this particular subject, so let's make it optional". But you can't
adequately teach Biology without covering evolution, and you can't adequately teach science without including Biology.

The future economic impact of biotechnology could dwarf the 1970's-1990's impact of the integrated circuit. We need everyone to know math and science
for the USA to keep kicking economic but in the 21st century -- or should we let certain churches open a new dark age where people can optionally stay
un-educated in a world knowledge is increasingly important for success?
