No law would have stopped the nut. It is axiomatic that gun control targets the law-abiding, not the criminal or insane element. The nut also had a pipe bomb, gee, isn't that illegal?

Gun control advocates and their arguments cannot withstand analysis so they are reduced to mere emotion, grandstanding after each incident with the same stupid platitudinal response, ignoring the deeper causes of these acts, such as a society and leaders w/o moral foundation.

Actually had someone point a gun at me while his partner stuck a knife in me. They left me to bleed to death after kicking me in the head repeatedly (breaking my arm which I tried to shield myself with) because they weren't happy with the contents of my wallet. Luckily, the assault took place less than a block from a hospital and I dragged myself into the emergency room. These guys had a long history of violent crimes using weapons and should not have been on the street in the first place. They got a slap on the wrist for what they did to me. I didn't carry a gun then, but I do now. What we need to do is enforce the laws we have on the books. As for your crack about federal enforcement of gun crimes, them's the facts not "dogma". So enforcement of the current laws would clearly have helped my situation, wouldn't you agree? There's no way to stop a nut like the one in Texas. Life is sometimes unfair and bad things happen to good people but law abiding citizens need not be penalized for that fact. JLA
