molloy, " I decry Sagan because he wants to shove down my throat a Theory as fact and tells me that any ideas I may have about God are myths and have no place in school
which is diametrically opposite of what a more reputable entity than Sagan, Notre Dame University, teaches.

That is why we all ( Rush & me ) have had it with Carl & the gang.

I can/will debate you with half my brain tied behind my back just to make it equal

Ahh A Rush Limbaugh fan.

You have ignored all my points. This is getting pathetic.

The point here is that you have several pathetic biotechnophiles such as Carl Sagan
and company
that are trying ( when it is safe to do so, ie when they debate with intellectual
cripples )
to do away with 20 centuries of keen intellectual debate as to
-who are we?
-where did we come from?
-how were we created?
-by whom or by what?
-were do we go from here?
-how is the Universe explained?
-what is our purpose in life?
-when did life begin?

As usual, when you know you cannot debate my specfic points, you broaden the issue. You are now raising philosophical points which have
nothing to do with the case in point, that Kansas has removed the requirement to study evolution, and evolution theory and creation theory are equally
valid.

There was virtually no debate (in the west) for 20 centuries. Beween the Greek Philosophers and the Rennaisance there was a comfortable status quo,
policed by the Catholic Church.

-who are we?
What is your context? Taxonomically, we are primates. Do you disagree?

-where did we come from?
Africa or Eden. take your pick. Which hyposthesis is testable?

-how were we created?
Birds and bees question?

-by whom or by what?
The Catholic church has no problem rolling evolution in with the concept of a soul. Why do you?

-were do we go from here?
I don't know - do you?

-how is the Universe explained?
How can we explain something so all encompassing?
How is God explained?

-what is our purpose in life?
Propogate our genes.

-when did life begin?
About 3billion years ago or 6200BC. Which is the testable hypothesis?

The rest of your rant is about the first amendment, which I happe to support. Why do you decry the views of Sagan et al. They have 1st amendment rights
too (don't they?)
