Sounds a bit circular to me:

3Com Corp.'s (COMS) earnings for the quarter ended Aug. 31 are expected to be flat compared with a year ago....

William Becklean, analyst with SunTrust Equitable Securities Inc., expects 3Com to report fiscal first-quarter income of $89 million, or 24 cents a share, excluding one-time items, which matches the First Call/Thomson Financial consensus of 26 analysts' estimates....

Analysts aren't surprised by 3Com's expected flat performance. ...

Gary--- niether one of these should be completely out of your portfolio. CS is just fine at flat and will not last the year IMO. Actually I think it will be bought sooner. COMS is dead on its feet. They can not increase value except by a compltete break up or buyout. If we can see it be sure the BOD has seen it and one of the other will happen in the not too distant future,, but they are trying to milk every buck they can first... That NEWS is built into the prices and a drop will not last long... if halted for a sale you will have tears in your eyes..
