Michelle - you and I obviously have different views. I don't view this as a "consortium" per se - I used the term, as William introduced it into the discussion.

This is not a group of companies working together to develop a product. This is a group of companies that have agreed on standards for sharing auction data - so that such data is more widely distributed.

To me, this makes a lot of sense for consumers that participate in online auctions - for both buyers and sellers.

Yes, individual members of the "consortium" will have to overcome Ebay's market penetration - and they may not succeed. It will take more than a lot of marketing dollars.

But I'm not inclined to laugh this effort off. Even with the perceived lack of competition, I think EBAY is over-valued - but others on this thread appear to think differently.

In this market, I have no idea where the stock will go.
