I agree with you. I simply gave you the worst senario with
commodity biz at CPQ. FYI commodity stocks is very different
from growth stocks, you have to buy commodity stocks when pe
is the highest.

Anyway, fortunately CPQ is more than just a commodity stock yet.

ps: Just put away this dog for a few months.

Hi JDN,

Compaq is addressing the change in desktop too. (Fortunately for us). Look for two Thin Client products to be launched in the near future.

As an additional to the Thin Client products, there is some development with Windows NT Terminal Server Edition. As you might know, NT only supports four cpu's today, but CPQ and others have released eight-way servers for future scalability. HOWEVER, a client who wants to take advantage of a Thin Client environment can do so with an eight-way CPQ server TODAY. CPQ will make available through its Professional Services arm a version of NT Terminal Server which supports eight cpu's. This solution is not proprietary, it is fully supported by Microsoft, although they will not sell it themselves.

FWIW
