I can't particularly stand GG either, but I think you're picking at nits here. Hold your nose and wade through The Big G's noisome verbiage, and all he's really saying is that you're going to be able to access office suite services through portals. It doesn't really matter what M$ does or doesn't do to IE; the fact that there won't be a word processing button on the browser's toolbar (though at some point there probably will be) doesn't really affect his point.

browsers?" netscape perhaps? does anyone even use that any more ( other than you guys)?


AOL is dumping IE for the 5.0 client, upgrading the browser significantly and porting the client to *nix. One won't need MS (finally) to run AOL. The 5.0 client is due for release the day after Judge Jackson bangs Maxwell's silver hammer down with a remedy for the Innovators.
