Well there you have it all in a nut shell as the events are unfolding.

Cheers.

Thanks very much Taff.

<<The Bellevue No. 1-17R ......a decision has been made to run a downhole VSP....>>

Most excellent !!! Costly, but well worthwhile. That should both help them to quantify and "book" some meaningful reserves at year end. I can already imagine the year end debates between the staff engineers and the independent consultants. Man, I'd sure love to be a part of those discussions !!

The only downside of this great news is that I suspect I'll soon be hearing a lot more about vibes and thumpers !!

<<The Berkley No. 1 is drilling at approximately 10,500 feet and it is
expected it will reach a depth of 11,500 feet within the next two to three days.....>>

They've been making some good hole !!! But then the easy part of the hole always goes fast. Hopefully, things will continue to go well and I'm sure that they have learned a few things from the multiple wellbores just a couple miles to the southeast.

<<Intermediate stage casing at the Cal Canal well has been successfully completed and drilling is expected to resume on Sept. 22, 1999. Casing has been set approximately 150 feet above the top of the Temblor zone.>>

It would appear that BKP's IR man and Busby are not on speaking \ listening terms. <gg> And, "the collection of drunks" doesn't appear to be talking to either of them !! Oh well, what does it really matter anyway ??

This NR also seems to confirm that all the RUMOURED gas of a couple of weeks ago was just emitting from the mudlogger's pant leg (or, as you postulate, from the Stevens sand to which the JV does not have any rights) !!

Do have a very pleasant evening.

Later,
