Steve, I wasn't talking about the relative merits or products of Intel vs, AMD, just the poll. Then again, while we're here:

AMD ATHLON, THE FASTEST PC PROCESSOR IN THE WORLD

Possibly, but did anyone ever tell you that the speed of the processor is only one ingredient for success:

Availability
- Yield
- Bin Splits
Reliability
Infrastructure support
- mobos
- chipsets
- drivers
Marketing
- Intel Inside
Alliances
- Dell
- Gateway
Sales
Company viability
Management
- Sanders vs. Barrett, Grove, etc.

steve - Re: "AMD ATHLON, THE FASTEST PC PROCESSOR IN THE WORLD"

I hear that yesterday in Massachusetts - at a PC Dealer meeting - AMD PROVED that the ATHLON definitely CRASHES a LOT FASTER than a Pentium III.

You might want to check your sources - but ATHLON STABILITY may prove to be a KILLER for "AMD ATHLON, THE FASTEST PC PROCESSOR IN THE WORLD".
