Hey - how come no one's talking about the news story below. The Toronto Broadcast media is saying this will take business away from BII. Opinions anyone?

Auction action heats up
By Computerworld staff

Microsoft Corp., Excite@Home and Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch are joining the auction action.

The companies announced that they'll become members of Woburn, Mass.-based Fairmarket Inc.'s extensive auction network. Fairmarket will provide technology and all auxiliary auction services, such as customer service, promotion management and fraud prevention, to those companies, which will offer auctions on their sites.

Microsoft's MSN auction is expected to launch today, Excite.com's auction is slated to go live by Monday and Ticketmaster's CitySearch auction services will be available within 30 days, the companies said.
