Never mind Bernard - what I'd like to know is why haven't Ericsson and Telital published detailed specifications of their G* models. We're near October now. If the satellite mode stand-by time really is below 10 hours, Globalstar needs to deal with this issue and explain how consumers are supposed to handle the situation. If it isn't - why not put the numbers on the table and stop the handset rumors that are now swirling in Stockholm? They are trickling to Wall Street.

The worst possible move GSTRF can make is to tout the good voice quality of these phones and advertise the weight that is lower than that of Iridium models... only to spring the stand-by time surprise on buyers *after* they have committed. I really, really doubt that consumers will appreciate these kind of bait & switch tactics. I don't know how you sell a phone that has to be recharged three times a day outside of terrestrial mobile networks. But the company needs to find out some strategy in a hurry. They can't brush this under the carpet.

I went into the Loral and G* investments knowing his reputation for playing his cards close to his chest - very close to his chest. But I thought the business and his management skills made these investments potentially good ones.

I've been wondering this for a while....What exactly has Bernard Schwartz done to earn the reverence of this thread? I am completely unfamilair with his history, but many people here seem to put a lot of faith in him.
