Ask several of the re-sellers about how the Athlon is performing during the demos against the Pentium III. Speed is only one small part of the game.

I don't agree.

AMD has a long row to hoe before it starts making Intel look bad. Unless your an AMD fan and can hang your hat for a month or two on the fastest processor thing.

Until I see a slew of Tier One OEM announcements supporting K7, I remain cautiously concerned, but not overwhelmed.

I have a slug of other reasons why I believe Intel won't "look bad", most of which are included in Tony's list. Also, I don't anticipate Intel giving up the AMD race without a fight. Granted, Coppermine isn't released yet, and I can't comment on how I believe Coppemine will fare against K7 performance wise, as I am under embargo. So until Coppermine comes out, by all means live it up :-).
