ynot, if you were a "big player" would you risk CS being taken over and losing all gains over $20 just so you can get 1/4 (25 cents) by writing calls against your stock during this week? I wouldn't. If I were a big player, I would write calls for October, say $25 or wait for a $30 position to come open. I would then cover the position on dips. At least if there is a buyout, I get my money up to the $25 or $30 strike price.

Actually if I were a real big player, I would sell naked puts, way out of the money, for January, 2000. I think that's money on the ground.
