Can't understand why people are talking about splits or spinoffs (which do affect options symbols) when nothing like that's affected Q since June.

MileHigh - yes, different prices can (and do) exist on the different options exchanges, but (as you point out) exchange arbitrage quickly brings things back in line - MM computer sell programs could rake in a fortune on a 1/16 point difference - there's no way a 7+ point difference could ever exist on different exchanges on the same option.

JG - I think John Kouba and I have it right - sometimes CBOE needs to move an old symbol 'out of the way' to make room for a new strike on another equity - think of it as cleaning out the pantry and relabeling the jars. Tomorrow or Sunday AM our accounts should look right as rain with lots of ZLUAF and the like.
