There are subtle forms of violence that do not involve striking a person. Violence to the mind, for example. That group I gave you a link to targets "anti-gay neighborhoods", whatever the heck those are, and passes out leaflets to schoolchildren. Go to their Handbook of Tactics link and you'll see.

From a strictly legal standpoint, dumping fake blood and feces on someone is an act of violence...
