El, - Lucent Technologies has asked 180 employees in its communications software group to voluntarily resign or face retraining, reassignment or possible dismissal, a spokesman said. I must say that I'm impressed that Lu is running a tight ship. There are too many workers today who don't pull their share of the load. Having been in that spot myself I realize it's not the happiest situation to have to let people go, but I admire Lu for cutting the fat. That is the only way to stay on top today. Ted
