<Brent this seem pretty short sighted. Short sellers are looking to make profits and I don't believe tax consideration are much to them. They only bank their paper profits when they cover. AND If the stock price hits 15 your better believe they would cover!> I agree. I was merely pointing out to Michael L (I think was the name) that shorters never cover due to short term/long term capital gains considerations because with a short sale it is always considered a short term gain no matter how long it was held.
