Good Saturday Mornin yall, To follow up on the Freebie business, my aunt in San Fran just bought her daughter an e-machines computer for 299.00 after rebates and a 3 year contract with CompuServe. She Also got free 250 hrs of AOL for a month. Ah told her she was harder to keep up with then a greased pig the way she slips and slides to a new free service. LOL. Howevah, she has been "quite" clear that she hates the freeiserve and some others that she has tried and keeps comin back to AOL in one form or another. All this from a 72 yr old lady. :-) Betcha there are tons of folks out there just like her as well as the young'uns that love AOL. JMHO, best regards, Dep
P.S. (CGarcia, you are mah hero..ahm hangin long with ya) Best of luck, Dep

Time Traveler~

I am totally naive when it comes to investing and the tax consequences...could you answer two rudimentary questions for me...is there a specific amount of time you have to hold a stock before you can sell it and take the loss? I have one dog that I bought in haste and would love to get rid of it...and it is not AOL! Also sold one in haste (panic) and would like to buy it back...are you saying I can do that in 30 days and still get the write off?

Thanks,
Mason
