DannyDenial - Re: "If your story has any validity at all, Paul, the fact is that lots of things can go wrong with desktops that are hauled around to demos. And Paul, did you know that it is possible to misconfigure a system such the it crashes due to software problems? "

It was an AMD system CONFIGURED by AMD , SET UP by AMD, and DEMOed by AMD PERSONNEL.

It crashed in front of an audience of PC Resellers while AMD was attempting to show how much "faster" the AthFLOP is compared to a PENTIUM III that did NOT CRASH !

I can only assume that the Pentium III and the AthFLOP were running the same software.

FACE FACTs !

Why can't you find AthFLOP systems available ?

Answer - PC resellers are AFRAID TO SELL THEM because of instability problems !
