EnReach Tech Launches China Portal For PCs, Net TVs

[September 17, 1999--BEIJING] California-based EnReach Technology has launched Focus China, a China-based portal focussed on Internet news, multimedia, and e-commerce.

According to Bo Wu, President and CEO of EnReach Technology, "EnReach is an Internet software platform technology leader who successfully pioneered and introduced HTML based operating systems to China in 1997."

According to the company, its platform software can already be found in over 20 million VCD and DVD players in China. EnReach says it is going online with the largest WebDVD and TV set-top box manufacturers in China.

"Focus.com.cn will serve both the TV and PC platform web surfers, although it is our belief that the future of Internet access in China lies with the TV platform because of its ease of use, cost factors, language, and user interface issues," says Wu.

Wu indicates that the new China portal is only a part of EnReach's global Internet infrastructure strategy. The company plans to roll out more products with Internet TV, business to consumer, and business to business Internet applications.

Wu claims that EnReach is profitable and has seen a 300 percent year over year growth in revenues since 1997.
