Sometimes it's hard to see the forest through the trees. This last week had some really positive news, and with the OLBs being out of favor at the moment, EGRP got brought down with the herd. With 20 million shares short, and a bottom definitely in sight for the stock, it doesn't take a genius to know what is going to happen. Coiled spring analogy?
From "The Street.com":
CNBC set tongues wagging in the financial journalism world this week when it took a stake in electronic trading system Archipelago. The 12.4% stake puts the business news channel in the company of fellow owners Goldman Sachs (GS:NYSE), E*Trade (EGRP:Nasdaq), Merrill Lynch (MER:NYSE) and Reuters' (RTRSY:Nasdaq ADR) Instinet, among others, and has led some to wonder how the move will affect CNBC's coverage of these companies as well as ECNs in general. The channel says, hey, don't worry, you won't even know the difference.
In further ECN news, Archipelago joined seven other after-hours outfits in linking systems and building a consolidated order book, in an effort to rule the world. Well, really in an effort to produce better order flow for a more representative after-hours market. As a result, many experts expect more people to be trading instead of watching "America's Funniest Home Videos."

After hours trading? I got a flyer in my account statement announcing it but how & when can you do it?

I know of no details?
Do you just trade like normal until 5:30pm EST?

Probably irrelevant to me as my last trade was 7/20.

thanks
