G.Moore: Just because I sign off with "Qualcomm and Nokia. Together the World !" I get called a "bistockshual" as in " as one of the few openly bistockshual (go both ways--Q and NOK) people", ye Gods !

Yes but I guess there are two problems with that.

The first is that JDSU is my second love - not Nokia - and there are many others.

The second is that the Q is the gorilla. Nokia is a prince in my view. All in gorilla game terms. Quite different in their strengths.

But your point is well taken in that I do try to learn as much as I can of the technologies (to the extent a non technologically trained person can) and take as objective a view as I can despite the late "religious wars" in which I sided entirely with the Q against Ericsson.

Re the Q's handset exit and its impact on Nokia. Not a clue. That is because I have no idea yet what shape, form or comprehensiveness that "exit" may take. So impossible to judge its impact on anything, let alone on Nokia as such.

I see Nokia having a good shot at the future if and when it can really get going full speed in CDMA. That is Nokia's test IMO. All else is of little long run importance. (Tero to the contrary)

When we see who the sale is to and for what in return (the money is of little importance IMO) What is important will be what else the sale gains for the Q in worldwide CDMA ascendancy.

Best.
