Fred,

I know your post wasn't directed to me...and I'm not an expert on
shorting stock but I believe that short sellers borrow the shares
from the broker [on margin].

Fred Manzo: You are correct. As the article stated "promise to sell". There is not a promise. It is sold. The only thing a short has to do is buy stock to cover a position, which they never have to do (unless they run out of capital to cover). One of the many 'half truths' the article was repleat with. I didn't want to waste time cutting it to shreads!

As for something to worry about, only if there is a short squeeze. I don't think this has come close to happening. There is something to worry about...if one is short!
