G'day all - re: NT marketing. I am not sure there is a one-size-fits-all campaign. Unlike MOT or BEL etc, NT is really "plumbing" and "shovel" company, so would it make sense to waste the 30 sec spot on teevee to talk about the nitty-gritty?

IMHO, it is worse to do a pepsi-vs-coke thing in the mass media, whether it is vis-a-vis CSCO or LU. While CSCO and LU, and a number of other highly competent companies for that matters, are great competitors, NT stands on its own feet, whether these other companies exist or not. So, why does one keep having such an inferiority complex wanting to find something "positive" about NT.

The thing is, 30 sec spot on teevee is unlikely the only thing NT is doing. However, would the retail consumers care if Succession Network helps the telecom services companies to cut cost? Sure, considering that increasingly savvy general population, it is possible to target small and medium size biz with Baystack etc or to educate NT's optical expertise, but these should not be replaced by target marketing like sales force and resellers.

Therefore, if shareholders as retail consumers start making critical judgement on just a 30 sec, maybe, just maybe, we are investing in a company for the wrong reasons.

To say the least, I am happy if the company doesn't commit serious errors - and moves to correct any snafu quickly <G>

best, Bosco
