Tony,
Hard to say when respect will return to valuations. If you look at the advance/decline line you may see a bear market in progress. Many fundamentally strong companies have a very weak price. Long term they are all a good buy. If you compare the Dow with the A/D line you will see an anomaly. Mnay prognosticate that the anomaly will resolve itself which means a lower Dow. When and if that happens market sentiment could take things even lower. ODP & OMX are on my watch list for purchase.
BIll

ODP trading at 9 7/8 now today. Sure looks like an incredible buy to me. Low risk. And a potential 100% return within a year.

$2 per share in cash, profitable company, very low debt, 15 PE. Looks good to me.

and throw in some insider buying just to sweeten the deal:

31-Aug-99 HEDRICK WILLIAM SCOTT Bought (P) 20,000 Common 10.44 $208,800
31-Aug-99 MACATEE JOHN C Bought (P) 57,000 Common 10.42 $593,940
