. I don't want to seem like a gloomy gus but Intel is not going to let Christmas season get away from them waiting for RDRAM still in ramp up production phase in Korea or Japan. SDRAM will dominate the 4Q selling season.

jd,
i agree.
if one rmbs computer sells next q, rmbs pc sales increase 100%.
the grand slam home run is 2001-2002. but you need to tag 1st, 2nd, and 3rd this year and next year to get a "grand slam" home run.

i was trying to help you in your search for rmbs test equipment.

JD,

<I don't want to seem like a gloomy gus but Intel is not going to let Christmas season get away from them waiting for RDRAM still in ramp up production phase in Korea or Japan. SDRAM will dominate the 4Q selling season. No appreciable RDRAM will show until about January.>

High-end systems, where RDRAM is first going to appear, are not a big CompUSA item. No one has ever expected this Christmas to be a big RDRAM event. Initially it will be driven by corporate purchases and power users. If there's any potential problem, it's the Y2K lockdown that's been discussed. But the laptop folks I'm working with have talked to their major customers (for all their computing products, not just laptops) and are not expecting a significant lockdown event.
