Yousef, I am not sure. It is the same with a new Intel chip, however Intel usually ships a large startup volume of parts to the OEMs and there are mobos ready well in advance.
The AMD release was hampered by a well earned timidity towards AMD on the part of the OEMs and mobo makers and this made the rampup slow on all fronts.
From what I read this shortage should take at least 3-4 months from first chip release to alleviate and this is due at the end of October and we are seeing systems appear on more fronts all the time. More mobos, volume shipping of Athlons, faster Athlons, new chipsets from Via, it is all appearing as the days go by. So by the end of October we should have all aspects of Athlon systems available on all fronts.
You should already know this
