Buying groups and DigitalMe

Oh did you hit on something here!!!
Just imagine this. You get together with a group of people using digitalme and form a buying group. The group negotiates with a vendor to buy a variety and quantity of product at a cheap price.

The vendor is selling to the group, the individual members of the group are unknown, the group is billing the individual members, and nobody has to give out anything other than a shipping address.

Sounds like an interesting way to use digitalme to do the equivalent of a Price Club. It could be operated by a credit union, a Kiwanis Club, or a local home town retailer.

Is this the first commercial application of digitalme?

Diamonds....

>>Keep going Frederick. I'm trying to follow you on this. Can you suggest what Novell should be doing with/for these buying groups? How can Novell further the development of their business model by starting with these groups? How does my being in a trust group benefit me in my e-commerce and net based business activities? If you have already answered this, just point me back so you do not have to repeat.>>

p friend:

These "buying groups" are simply aggregating individuals, but they are doing very little to "go higher" in terms of developing community and trust relationships.

DigitalMe will allow individuals to aggregate various groups separately and, more importantly, in advance of these "buying groups". Each of "our" networks could aggregate into specific groups of individuals for the purpose of alerting more people about the status of various buying group specials.

That's about all the detail anyone needs.

Like diamonds, these ideas don't come cheap, for they represent "transforming" perspectives that have great viral energy and power.

Come to mama Novell.

Just buy more.

Peace.

GO!!
