Linda, I think that you gotten some pretty good advice on this board. Just to add further confusion, you might want to look at SFE which started ICGE. (Each $ of rise in ICGE adds 50cents to SFE's NAV)
SFE is a wonderful company that has taken my 8000 investment in 1981 to over 500,000 today. (On a theoretical basis, I've taken profits along the way (: ). It is trading at or close to the value of it's public portfolio. It also has a rather strong (but more traditional) portfolio of private companies. I would be more comfortable buying SFE on a dip and waiting for a larger correction for ICGE. Once you own SFE you are a player in ICGE so it becomes less important to chase it.
Check out the SFE board, there are some very good analyses on it.
