Yes, I would enjoy those favorite things too... yours too Michael...

The "building a treehouse" one is particularly appealing... I'm a real sucker for treehouses, tiny buildings, hiding places, etc... A couple of friends and I built a great fort when we were about 9 or 10... We even had a sign for it that said "The Jolly Roger Club" complete with a skull and crossbones painted on it... Yep...when I wasn't busy being the town sheriff...I was usually a pirate.....

..which brings me to something that bothers me a lot when I think about kids and the the times that we live in. When I was a kid, there were lots of forests around the neighbourhood. Nobody seemed to own them and you could just grab a hammer and a few nails and go into the bush to make fort. We all did it and it was just the best thing in the world. Now, I don't think there would be many places where a kid could build a fort.... Most open spaces are park land and you couldn't just build a fort up in the trees. Also, I doubt that many kids have the same freedom to just wander off and hang out in some bushes being pirates or Robin Hood or whatever... Bushes and parks aren't the good places that they used to be...your head...

Now that's something that really gets me steamed up... one of my "unfavourite things"...
