what do people think of buying the jan 60 puts on ebay...at about a dollar ...

Thats crazy ike... come on don't do it... if you have to buy puts on ebay go out to march or april, jan puts will thrust right in the middle of the xmas euphoria, the only way ebay will go down at that time is if their site crashes for a month or Xmas auctions are unbearably low. Add to that a possibility of a Jan 1 y2k relief rally and ebay could be 200 by then.

I'm no ebay fan but the only plays on this Blodget xmas basket for the short term are longs... next year a diff story...

imo <re puts on ebay>>>
it is a very good idea ,their are too many negatives happening to ebay right now with increasing competition and it's ever growing market cap,,also if this market turns bad in oct as alot of people are expectin ebay will be the first stock punished ,,all of the positives are already in the current stock price, imo if you buy the 60 puts you are still giving ebay a 9 billion dollar cap on eps of .05,,and growing competition, that is fact my friend,,
p.s. i own oct 100 puts on ebay,,remember where the stock price was on aug 10 ,,,if it went up 88 points in a month who ways it can't go down 88 ???

Only a slightly better bet than "Big Game" lottery tickets. As much as I believe that Ebay will eventually trade lower than this I do not see it happening in January. At 60 you are too far out of the money.
