Jeff,

No question is a stupid question. Though I have been known to provide some stupid answers. :)

My television has a built in programming guide called StarSight, which provides a program screen as well as one touch programming of my vcr. How does this relate to Gemstar?

StarSight was the name of the company, not just the guide. StarSight was bought by Gemstar years ago.

Your television reminds me that I forgot to mention in my previous post that the number of televisions and television brands including electronic program guides is a strong indication for me that the product has crossed the chasm.
